Yeah, but you're talking Real World(TM), and this is a CCIE lab
prep list. And as they said on this years Networkers CCIE Power
Session:

 The lab test is *not* a design test, so don't read anything
 (such as best common practices) that isn't in there, into the
 questions.

Do what they ask you to do, no more no less, and you should be
fine.

PS: I agree that in the other world, the one were we work on
    building real networks for real people, you should always
    filter when redestributing.
