David,
It equal cost load balances over a maximum of 4 paths. Use the
"maximum-paths" command under router rip to choose the # of paths to balance
over. Also, using the "ip route-cache" command influences the way it will
load balance:
*with "ip route-cache" enabled, it will load balance per-destination
*with "ip route-cache" disabled, it will load balance per packet
HTH,

It is my understanding that RIP does equal cost load balancing.
i can't find any information on this feature.

does anyone know how many equal cost paths that RIP supports?
and whether or not you can turn off this feature?
 is it enabled by default?

 thanks in advance,
 David
