Thanks for the sanity check Brian. I'm getting close to the lab (less than 3 we
eks) and sometimes there is so much information you get lost in all of it. I've
now got a warm fuzzy feeling inside that my logic was correct. Thanks again.
To answer your question about redistributing a specific interface, route-maps a
re a beautiful thing and work every time ;)
Jason, the loopback on R1 is in IS-IS and the network type cannot be changed li
ke OSPF.
Thanks again .... MW :)

Correct, we only redistribute from what's know in the routing by that routing p
rotocol and, since your loopback on R1 is known as a "connected" route and not
an IS-IS route, it doesn't get redistributed. Practice using "redistribute co
nnected" and find a way to only redistribute just one specific interface, not a
ll of them. Have to make you work for it a little
bit... ;-) The archive already has this exact solution, it's always a great
place to start.

R3 only sees R2's loopback in it's routing table and "not" R1's loopback. My qu
estion ... is this because R1 sees it's loopback as connected (even though it's
in IS-IS) and therefore does no redistribute into OSPF. The only way I get R1'
s loopback into R3 is by redistributing connected.
