Hi Aqeel:

My recommendation is proceed based on your on
personal priorities. Everyone's priorities are
different (money, job, family,...) Once you've
prioritized, the picture will be much clearer.

CCIEs salary are around $90K-$110K right now. If
you're somewhere in California like I am, my heart
goes out to you, time is tough. So hang in there
and leverage what you have, even though the equipment
prices has come down quite a bit, don't go out and max
out your credit card or take out a loan. If you're
rich, that's a different story. If your company or
friends have a rack of equipment, try to utilize it
and do as much as you can. If you have family, you
might want to prolong your CCIE plan/process (like I
am), attaining a piece of paper and loosing your
friends & family doesn't exactly represent success.

Everyone does things for different reasons,
fun/knowledge/money. No one cause is more just then
the other, it all depends what you want.
I do it for the fun and knowledge. If all you want
is money, I think there are better options.

Just my openion.

Best of luck,
Paul Young.
