Alex,

The customer base is large, but you'll have to draw your own conclusions
about whether the track is worth following. I really don't want to get an
ATM vs. ? debate going here.

I thought the WAN track was easier 'cause:

1. It's all ATM and IP, with this emphasis on ATM.
2. The three switches (BPX, MGX, IPX) have similar commands.
3. I work with these devices regularly.

The drawbacks are obvious:

1. Unless you work with the equipment you can't get hands-on experience.
With what these switches cost, you ain't gonna be building no home lab.
2. Cisco Wan Manager is part of the requirements, and it only runs on a
decently powered Sun box.

This track is definitely not for everyone. It is for people who work with
ATM on Stratacom series switches--a small portion of the networking
community.

On the plus side, even Scott Morris passed the WAN CCNA ;-)

By the way, I was thinking of following that track too
and I wanted to know how does it compare to the R&S
ccna, ccnp and also if it is worth it (I mean regarding
cisco's commitment to these products and customer
base)
