Bob,

They have to match in order to form adjacencies.

"debug eigrp packet hello" is the command you want to use.

For example :

Sep 17 10:10:27.751: EIGRP: Received HELLO on Serial0 nbr 10.50.45.1
Sep 17 10:10:27.751: AS 100, Flags 0x0, Seq 0/0 idbQ 0/0 iidbQ un/rely 0/0
peerQ un/rely 0/0

So you have the AS number in the hello packet.

Folks,

In EIGRP, do the neighbors' AS numbers have to match? I was thinking that
they do, but haven't confirmed this yet. If so, is there a way to
"auto-discover" the AS number of an attached router that I don't have access
to? I am guessing some of the debug commands might reveal this, but I
haven't found the magic one yet. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bob
