Another use of the tag is for redistributing BGP into say OSPF and then back
into BGP. If you do this without tags you lose path info, however when you
use tags you can recover the path and/or origin info. This can be done with
a route map and match ip as-path tag or match automatic-tag (to add origin
info as well).
