Sorry for the of topic :
It is an environment with two Cats 2924 XL , with a FEC/ISL between them ,
running 12.0.5XU.
Attached to each 2924, there is an Alteon switch , running VRRP. It looks
that the VRRP multicasts are not being exchanged to each other . The result
is a Master/Master , instead of Master/Backup .
If I remove the channel and ISL trunk , with only one active interface , it
works . The configs are very simple , like :
interface fastethernet 0/23
port group 1
switchport mode trunk
interface fastethernet 0/24
port group 1
switchport mode trunk
I have tested with two Cisco routers running HSRP , and the debug standby
only shows the HSRP hellos going out, none coming in the router Fixed that
by using standby use-bia .
But Alteon VRRP still doesn't work . Per Alteon guy's words , there is
nothing similar stanby use-bia in VRRP .
Does anyone have an idea of how to fix ?
Thanks a lot
