Hi Hans,
The system ID part of the NET does not need to be a MAC address. You
usually use the MAC address to help make sure that you have a unique system
ID, so you can use any number as long as it is six octets long and unique.
Hope that helps,
JF

Subject: isis layer 2 address
Hi all,
A question in ISIS. Under router isis, we have to configure net
00.0001.xxxxxxx..........00, where xxxxxxx are the mac address of the
router.
What if the router does not have any ehternet/tokem ring port?
Thanks,
Hans
