The command to stop the trace is just ctrl-shift-6. Adding the x tells the
router to suspend (not close) the telnet session and returns you to the
originating router/switch.

Subject: Traceroute & Termserver
Group,
May be this has been discussed, but could not find it
in archives.
Q1. I have got a Termserver to router connection and
when trying to terminate a traceroute in router( with
Ctrl+shift 6 x) it comes back to TS rather than break
the traceroute. What is the solution ? as the
traceroute continues....
Example:
r9#traceroute 10.1.1.1
Type escape sequence to abort.
Tracing the route to 10.1.1.1

6 * * *

termsrver#
[Resuming connection 3 to r9 ... ]

Q2. I am using hyperterm with win2K and somehow my
arrow keys dont work to repeat or execute previous
cmds.Do i have to upgrade it or what am i missing.i
had done this before but seem to forget ?
Thanks in advance for u time and answers,
Annu.
