No, short of adding the lo0 interface to another protocol
and redistributing that protocol into ospf.. that's
pretty much it.

Does it >have to be summarized by the ABR?

Much like the default on redistribution of a regular ospf
routes(E2) the default for NSSA area redistribution is N2.

The ASBR type 7 creates a NSSA-ext type 7 LSA. The NSSA ABR
in turn converts the type 7 LSA into a type 5 and floods it
into normal areas.

Native OSPF calculations should affect cost of routes
from area 0 to the destination. there are numerous ways
to affect/change these metrics. This can be done on
redistribution, on the interface level or by changing
your bandwidth speeds.

A great starting point would be Jeff Doyle's book..

Routing TCP/IP coupled with the RFC 2328

This should answer most of you question..
