I have a Cisco Access Pro 2501, and another "real" 2501. I swapped the flash
(long story - nevermind) =) and started getting the following error in the
Access Pro:
ERR: Invalid chip id 0x80B5 (reversed = 0x1AD ) detected in System flash
I've worked through the Troubleshooting Assistant on CCO, and it says that
I'm using an incompatible SIMM. HOWEVER, the SIMM from the CPA works just
fine in the real router, and frankly, except for the error message, the SIMM
in the CPA seems to work just fine too, with the exception that it won't
allow a flash upgrade. When I attempt an upgrade through IOS, it reboots,
gives an error (don't remember the exact message), and quits. I also
attempted to upgrade via ROMMON, and got about 5MB of a 7MB image
transferred when, once again, it errored out and quit.
Any ideas? If I'm using an incompatible SIMM, why does the CPA one work in
the real router? And why does the CPA work except for the upgrading and the
single error message?
All comments are appreciated.
