Asked too soon - found this online

Can I change dates with another CCIE lab candidate on-line?
Yes, you can change your routing and switching lab date using on-line
scheduling. However, the only way to change dates is to have both candidates
drop their dates, and then book each other's dropped date. At the time you
are doing this any number of people could be on-line at the same time and
could potentially book the date so you'll need to coordinate with the person
you are switching with. The likelihood that someone will be trying to book
the exact same date at the exact same time as you is low, but we want you to
be aware that it is a possibility.
To successfully change dates, you must abide by all our policies. You cannot
drop a date within 28 days of the lab date. You must abide by the written
exam policies and the exam score policies. Also note, you will not be
allowed to drop your lab date if you have already paid your lab exam fee.
