I think that the problem is that loopbacks don't support bridging. At all.

Subject: Transparent Bridging ?
How to configure Transparent bridging between a ethernet interface and
loopback interface on the same router. I know the commands are something
like
this:
bridge 1 protocol ieee (at the global config level)
and then assign the bridge group to the interface. I can put the
"bridge-group
1" command under ethernet, but loopback interface doesn't accept the
bridge-group 1 command. The message is "loopback doesn't support bridging"
Any ideas ?
thanks,
Sanjay
