Hans,
You can use the tcp syn timeout. This is a global command of the form:
ip tcp synwait-time 5
The minimum time is 5 secs.

Subject: connection timeout for telnet
Hi all,
Does anyone know how to adjust the telnet timeout parameter?
for e.g.
R4#r3
Trying R3 (172.16.14.2)...
On R4 I want to telnet to R3, if the connection is not up, I
will have to
wait a long time for the session to be terminated by itself.
I know I can
use ctl+shift+6+x, is there any other way to shorten the
waiting time?
Hans
