My experience has been that v12.0 and higher have tighter security on ISDN
dialup, but in some inconsistent ways.
In particular, with v12.0 I found that using dialer-maps requires ppp
authentication, but using dialer profiles with a dialer string does not
require ppp authentication. Robert, if you do not want to authenticate with
ppp, try using dialer profiles and a dialer string on the calling router.
