Rajasri,
I own both. They are both good and so is Mr. Small's. Any lab that
challenge's you to do things that you would not think of yourself is
worth doing.
>From using both Solutionslab and CCBootcamp these are my observations;
Solutionslab gets an unfair wrap because most of their solutions are
fairly well self explanatory. You will not see a request for
explanation to the solution because it is provided with the lab.
Solutionslab has you build one network topology and has problems
within that one topology. It covers most of the requirements that are
presented on the cisco web site for the lab. Please note I am using
ver. 1.20 and don't know if there is a newer version out there.
Ccbootcamp lab has about 19 "labs". Each one has a different topology
but much shorter list of requirements for each lab. They also provide
a hint page that may or may not answer your questions. To give you an
example I'm currently doing lab 19 and having problems with the
classical VLSM into FLSM (igrp). After cutting and pasting the
provided config's into the routers I'm still unable to get a /28 into
igrp. The bright side is that after I figure it out I will never have
this problem again, downside is I haven't figured out the problem.
Both companies labs require an excessive amount of routers, but both
can be hacked down to fit most's peoples home labs. The real benefit
is expanding on these labs to test your own knowledge of different
technologies. (Ei. just because the lab doesn't require ipsec on the
backup link, it might not be a bad thing to try)
So the long of it is if you can afford both, get both. Both of these
companies offer you good labs to practice for the real lab. I guess
if you are real motivated, you could write your own labs to practice
on.
To answer your question is anyone better than anyone else's lab. No,
they are just different. It's good to use as many different
perspectives when preparing for the lab as you can. As far as I know
the real labs were written by many different people.
