I think solution 2 is better. Just like the internet address assigned in whole
world .
In my opinon you should think more about how you get these 7 B class addres
s . Think more about how these address is assigned by your higher ISP accoredi
ng to solution 1 or solution 2 or other solutions is more helpful.

Subject: What's the popular IP addressing plan for national ISP?
> Hello, all,

> There are some conflicts when they are discussing the IP addressing solution.
Our account team don't want to support any group, but we want they can use the
good planning for the future. So I send this email, hope to get some feed back
from your all experts. We will say nothing, just forward your opinions to the
customer, and they make the decision.
> Assumption:
> 1) This is a big national backbone, with centrally administered.
> 2) This network will cover about 70 cities expanding based on the previous 37
cities. They have 7 B class addresses.
> 3) They don't have enough maintenance engineers.

> Solution 1:
> One group suggest the planning with continuous IP addressing: First blo
ck for backbone equipment, next for the servers, next block for IDC, then next
block for the customers. Each block will have spare addresses.
> Advantage: easy for access-list control, easy for addresses expansion, et
c.
>
> Solution 2:
> Divide the whole 7B into many sub-blocks based on the geographical distri
ct, each with some spare addresses.
> Advantage: Easy for address aggregation, easy to identify different equip
ments, 1 for lookup, 2 fro backbone connection, 3 for something else ... etc.

explanations?
