Actually Rick im a bit confused by your fist statment. I have setup a ipsec
tunnel and i can ping the remote side with a extended ping. Wherever you
read that you cannot, i disagree, i have a ipsec tunnel configured in my lab
and im able to ping from private to private..

Subject: ospf over tunnels
> ok, this is my day for questions, lol. But i know i have read on here that
you cant ping opposit ends of aq tunnel, with extended ping anyways. i have
tried this and its true, and the tunnels pass traffic for other networks
correctly. but if they cant send packets directly to each other, how would
one run ospf over them? any ideas?
