If you put the sub interface as point-to-point, when you disable that sub
int and enable it again, you can not change it to multipoint without reload
the router. The error message:
% Warning: cannot change link type
Actually I don't see this as a problem, since we can use another number for
new sub int!!

appears. what does it mean.

configs will be there on teh subinterafce?
-But it did not happen when I tried.
2. But when u type
Termserver#sh ip interface brief
Interface IP-Address OK? Method
Status Protocol
Loopback0 2.2.2.2 YES NVRAM up
up
Serial0 unassigned YES unset up
up
Serial0.123 unassigned YES NVRAM
deleted down
Serial1 unassigned YES unset
administratively down down
TokenRing0 unassigned YES unset
administratively down down
Termserver#
U can see that the interafce has been shown as deleted
but how to clear it from the table.
Is reboot only method for clearing this or any
command.
