The giver of the challenge did not specify routing protocols. He
simply wanted to see the BRI take over when S0 goes down and not see "ip
route", "dialer-watch" or "backup interface" anywhere in the config.

Modify the administrative distance or are you using the same protocol?
How about variance, IGRP / EIGRP ?

I've been challenged to backup a serial interface, in this case just
a T1, with a BRI while not using either a floating static, dialer-watch or
the backup interface command. Ideas?
