I once had an instructor say that Cisco does not recommend more than three
areas in a single router (including area 0) no matter what the horsepower.

Subject: OT: OSPF ABR's
Does anybody know the maximum number of area's that can be configured on an
OSPF ABR. I am assuming there is not a definite number as it is probably
based on memory, processor speed, etc. I'm having trouble finding even a
rule or guideline to go by. The issue I am running into is a hub router
with each spoke in it's own area. I'm trying to determine the max. number
of spokes per hub router. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance,
-Chad
