Another way to prevent your server from initiating a
call is to not define any interesting traffic. So if you
removed "dialer-list 1 pro ip permit" from your config
that would accomplish it.
username callback-dialerstring is used when you have
multiple clients calling in to the server. This will
allow you to define multilple usernames and their
corresponding telephone number to be called back on. An
example would be that you could have a bunch of sites
out there that could initiate a call if their primary
wan connection failed and use ISDN backup until the wan
connection was restored. You wouldn't need a 1:1 ratio
of equipment to remote sites in place at the central
site to support this backup configuration. Reduced cost
is always a consideration.
