Guys,

I stumbled accross something today when redistributing
a igrp/27 mask into a rip/28 and vice versa. All i
have in three routers with the middle doing the
redistribution. I saw in the archives somebody
suggested using secondary address' of the mask length
you are trying to redistribute. i then tried as doyle
suggests changing the subnet mask on the
redistributing router ie rta has all /28 masks
including the interface to the redistributing router,
if you change the mask on that link at the
redistributing router to a /27 mask you get your /27
routes from the igrp into the route table of rip, but
they appear as /28 routes. this creates reachability
problems with addresses further down in the network. i
then tried using tunnels much the same way as using
secondary addresses and it works fine. from the posts
of the guys that have got their number using the
tunnel idea in the lab wuld be just too easy a
solution, am i missing something here?

Garry
