Hi All

It finally happened for me on the third go in Sydney earlier this week.
Although I have not been an avid poster to the group it have been well worth
looking at the issues that come up and trying to nut out the problems. My
study followed the usual Fatkid Labs Caslow (I and II) Doyle and Halabi (I and
II). The DLSW+ design guide is also high on the reading list. I also found a
few gems in Cisco Multicast routers and switches by Parkhurst. Know the CD
inside out left to right upside down and inside out. Above all find someone to
study with as they can help to keep you focused and look at problems from a
different angle. It was the best feeling for my study partner Rudi to pass at
the same time.

Attempt 1 "Good effort for a first attempt" - crashed and burned on day 1, I
thought I knew my stuff the lab proved otherwise

Attempt 2 "What happened" I had fixed all the day 1 problems from last time
but forgot there was a day 2 and crashed in glorious style hence the reason
for attempt 3

Attempt 3 WOOOOOO HOOOOO! It was the most draining thing I have had to do.
STAY CLAM (have a beer the night before and try not to think about it)
Remember all the questions can be answered.

Thanks to
Rudi for the study weekend
Everyone Netstar for the time off the lab gear and the study advice
Groupstudy for posting many interesting questions
and the proctors in Sydney, Alex and Henry and Linda
Everyone else who has helped during this journey

This brings to a close 15 months of being a "geek hermit" to quote a friend.
so it is time for many rums running amok and trying to knock down trees in my
new toy, a rally car to celebrate the passing. Everyone needs a post CCIE goal
to have it helped me keep on going.

Catch you all later

Dave
