I agree with Brian - if you configure a SINGLE area OSPF network, that area
doesn't need to be area 0 (or 0.0.0.0). It's only when you have a multi area
OSPF network that an area 0 is required.
Having said that, it's a good idea (& Cisco recommended) to start with area
0 (ie. configure your single area net using area 0).
