quickly, yes ... each interface in between the end points needs to have this
on it

When configuring this for propagation between two lan segments separated by
a serial link i.e

ethernet----r1----serial----r2----ethernet

do you have to put the command on the serial links as well as the ethernets
on both routers.

I haven't any IPX kit to test this otherwise would.
