I noticed something diff - thought you all can see and
make some sense out of this to me..

Between 12.0 codes - i found these varying choices?:

1.(C2500-JOS56I-L), Version 12.0(9) --

r3(config-if)#ip ospf au
r3(config-if)#ip ospf authentication?
authentication authentication-key
r3(config-if)#ip osp authentication ?
  message-digest Use message-digest authentication
  null Use no authentication
  <cr>

2.(C2600-JS56I-M), Version 12.0(5)T1 --

r2(config-subif)#ip osp authentication?
authentication-key
