It's a bug. Mine does the same but I live with it...Kinda funny when my
friends come over to do labs and I forget to tell them about it...

Subject: spid1 sent, spid1 not valid - but the line works???

Hello all.

I have an ISDN problem that has me stumped. Telco has tested the line,
confirmed the CO type, SPIDs, etc. I get this symptom with different
routers so I don't think it's a hardware problem.

Router is 2620 with integrated WIC-1BU running 12.0(7)T. The Central office
is AT&T 5ESS running National-1 ISDN. Router config excerpts:

username HOST password 0 test
isdn switch-type basic-ni
interface BRI0/0
 ip address 192.168.182.27 255.255.255.0
 no ip redirects
 no ip directed-broadcast
 encapsulation ppp
dialer map ip x.x.x.1 name HOST ##########
 dialer-group 1
 isdn switch-type basic-ni
 isdn spid1 703#######0101 #######
 isdn spid2 703#######0101 #######
 ppp authentication chap
dialer-list 1 protocol ip permit

Here is the status of the BRI line:

#sh isdn sta
Global ISDN Switchtype = basic-ni
ISDN BRI0/0 interface
        dsl 0, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-ni
    Layer 1 Status:
        ACTIVE
    Layer 2 Status:
        TEI = 64, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED
        I_Queue_Len 0, UI_Queue_Len 0
        TEI = 73, Ces = 2, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED
        I_Queue_Len 0, UI_Queue_Len 0
        TEI 64, ces = 1, state = 8(established)
            spid1 configured, spid1 sent, spid1 NOT valid
        TEI 73, ces = 2, state = 8(established)
            spid2 configured, spid2 sent, spid2 NOT valid
    Layer 3 Status:
        0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
    Activated dsl 0 CCBs = 0
    The Free Channel Mask: 0x80000003
Total Allocated ISDN CCBs = 0

The line works both ways - I can send and receive calls. So why di I get
"spid1 not valid"?

Thanks,
Michelle
