Sounds like a name resolution issue. Forgive all the questions, but.. Do
the clients connect to the servers by name? If so, can they ping the
servers by name? Are the clients registering with a WINs server? Was the
3Com forwarding those UDP ports to a single address, or to a subnet? The
fact that the 3Com was forwarding 137 and 138 at all implies that name
services may not be setup correctly, and that they may need to implement
WINs.
