Reading Doyle, on pp.777ff, he shows a case study where access lists are
applied to a routing process, allows routes that are part of the process
(i.e, in an OSPF routing process allowing routes in that are already
inlcuded in the network LSA's, and on the RIP side, including routes that
are already advertized by the RIP routing process). I am confused, can
someone out there help me to understand why you would permit routes that are
already in the routing process, and why aren't other routes excluded? That
is, if redistributing routes from RIP into OSPF, doesn't the explicit deny
any any prevent RIP routes from being redistributed into OSPF?
