Am I right in assuming you have a router connected to the 3900? and that you
have configured Token ring ISL to that router?

Configs would be helpful, but here goes... this usually needs a white board to
show someone how it works.

one router would have a config that looks like this:

source-bridge ring-group 2048 # note ring 0x800 (HEX)
dlsw local-peer peer-id 1.1.1.1
dlsw remote-peer 0 tcp 2.2.2.2

interface fa1/0.1 # sorry, I don't know what your uplink is,
I'll assume Fast ethernet
 encaps trbrf-vlan 900 # brf 900, I don't remember this exact syntax.
I've done this on the 5K w/ RSM many times
                                       # and the syntax is quite different
 mtu 4472
 ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
 multiring trcrf-vlan 800 ring 2048
 multiring all
 source-bridge trcrf-vlan 800 ring-group 2048
 source-bridge spanning

Now, here's the key points:

In the switch crf vlan 800 is not assigned to any interfaces, some other crf
is used for interfaces (let's say 700) and its parent is 900.
Vlan 800's parent is 900
Vlan 800's ring number is 0x800 (hex) on the switch, but 2048 (decimal) on the
router and must match.
The bridge numbers assigned to all brf's are unique.

I hope this helps.
