According to the HW-SW Matrix and all product documenation that I can
find - the Fast-Ethernet module is NOT support in any of the 2600 series
routers. It is support in the 3600 series routers only. At least
currently ...

2600 series will support either the NM-1E or NM-4E only in slot 1.

you're right and I think I wasn't clear before... *in reference to your
question*, the only 2600's that support FastEthernet are 2620, 21, 50,
and
51... you can put a NM-1FE in any 2600, but you can't trunk or
channel...
actually, someone speak up if you know otherwise, but I think the fact
that
normal traffic can be passed on a NM-1FE in a 261x router in the series
is
not actually supposed to work. Check it out:

No.. These comes with BUILT-IN FastE, but 261x also supports FastE..
Only
prob is that I don't think it supports ISL , not even with FastE...
Of course.. I may be wrong and that some new IOS updates fixed that...
etc...
