I had a similiar problem just change your escape sequence on the line con
for r1 (assuming your connected via the console to R1 and runnin the telnet
that way) IF your telneted into R1 change the escape sequence for VTY to a
different escape sequence.

Cheers

Subject: Term Serv escape sequence

Dear Group,
I have the following setup:

r1
|
|(ethernet)
|
2509 term-serv
|
|(async)
|
r2

When I telnet from r1 into a 2509 acting as a terminal server, reverse
telnet into r2, login, then do a 'cntl+shift+6+x', I'll escape back to r1.
Does anybody konw what's the proper sequence to escape back to the terminal
server instead? Thanks,
