I was scanning the archives this weekend and there is a version of IOS 12.1?
that supports the 1FE.
Someone was happily using the interface in their 2600 router.
I checked the version release notes of the IOS on the Cisco site and sure
enough, it states the 1FE as a supported module for that particular release.
It was only supported on this one release and none of the following. I think
it was an XK release also.
