That's a pretty good challenge question. I happen to have run into this
on my 2501 routers at www.wansend.com and here's what I did:
1. The port isn't really bad. I've had to move the port speed up to
115200 to download an image, then when I go to access it, it doesn't work.
Just change your port speed to 115200.
2. The 2501 has a switch inside that resets the configuration. Just set
that switch and boot the router. It will come up with default
configurations, then you can go in either port to get to the router.
3. This won't work -- switching NVRAM only switches out the IOS, not the
startup-config.
