there was a rumor going around for a while that not only did the lab
proctors watch this list, but they also noted names of those who
participated regularly, as well as topics discussed. Then when such a person
showed up for the lab, they received a scenario especially tailored for
them, including detailed requirements for topics they had discussed on the
list.
Much as I believe in the lazy theory of human endeavor ( people will only do
that work which they perceive will allow them to be even lazier in the
future ), I worry that computer technology has changed a lot of this.
Databases with these kinds of cross references aren't all that much work any
more.
I know there are several folks here who use pseudonyms and less easily
traced web mail accounts for a number of reasons. Maybe we all should?
