IMHO Cisco will keep the difficulty level more or less
on an even keel. The test may be easier at the moment,
but that will change. If you have followed the cert
for several years you see trends. There are usually
2-3 months out of a year where numbers are given out
left and right. The majority of the year the pass rate
remains low. Cisco basically has no way to rate the
difficulty of new tests other than "beta" testing them
on cadidates. The test is going through fairly major
revisions at the moment due to older technologies
being removed and new ones being added. When they note
high pass rates on tests they will make them more
difficult and put them back into circulation. This
also appears to happen when nobody is passing
particular tests they are rewritten to make them
easier. There is a certain statistical pass rate that
they want to maintain and they will revise until they
are seeing it. Besides that, if you look at the
distribution right now, there are still only about
5300 worldwide and about 2400 in the US. If you figure
roughly 1000 in the US work for Cisco, you are still
in very high demand.
