Les,
   One reason the command isn't documented very much is until recently it
was a hidden command (and hidden commands aren't even documented within
Cisco, they're for the sole purpose of the Development Engineers).

Redistributing bgp into an igp is never a good idea, particularly if you
have full internet routes. ospf just can't handle it (not well anyway),
particularly with 96,000+ routes now. is-is is more scalable than ospf but
even it may start to run into problems as the number of internet routes
rise above 100,000 plus routes.

It all comes down to network design, you really shouldn't need to
redistribute bgp into an igp in a well-designed network. The ccie lab
doesn't count, anything goes... ;-)
