I'm not quite sure what you are asking. The timers do not have to match on bot
h
sides of the link for EIGRP to work. Each interface advertises its hold and
hello timers so that the neighbors know how frequently to expect hellos.

Subject: EIGRP hello and Hold timers
I have eigrp running on PTP serial with IPX ..I changed the hello and hold
on 1 router to 30 and 90 respectively with the other running the default
timers..With debug eigrp packets I still see the local interface sending
hello every 5 seconds and the other end sees the neighbor also...Am i
missing something ?
Cheers,Padhu
