Maybe you are not supposed to do this, but I haven't had any problems. I
have a 4500 with 2 TR DB-9 interfaces plugged directly into a Cat 3900. We
had some spare DB-9 modular connectors and gave it a shot one day, and it

You cannot (I _think_) go directly from DB9 to RJ45 with Token ring. My
reasoning behind this.. I've tried :) turns out you need media filters,
which do the job right. They're really cheap off ebay, and I have a ton of
extras if you would like to buy a couple.
