Hi all-
I've been working with configuring a 2610 router as a DHCP server. I first
experimented
with dynamic pools, exclude-addresses, default router, lease, etc...and
everything worked
fine. All I did was set up a PC on the ethernet segment of my router, and
then released
and renewed my IP address, and everything worked great. No problems.
Then, I started experimenting with static mappings, and couldn't get it to
work. My config
ip posted below: (note that I did try using the 'hardware-address' command
too, and still
no luck).
!
ip dhcp pool cory
host 1.0.0.23 255.0.0.0
default-router 1.0.0.1
!
interface Ethernet0/0
ip address 1.0.0.1 255.0.0.0
no ip directed-broadcast
!
With this config, I try to release and renew my IP address, and my PC comes
back with the
following error message:
DHCP Server unavailable: Renewing adapter ""
Any ideas?
