ATM is a major piece of the R&S CCIE lab. When I took the LAB last November
you only had access to one side of the ATM connection. You have to be able
to pull IGP routing updates, and VoIP connectivity over the ATM connection.
I expect that starting in February when they pull AppleTalk off the LAB exam
that you may see more ATM not less.

There's a lot more ATM customization and tuning being used today in live
networks that aren't being addressed on the CCIE exam.

                Excuse my ignorance but according to

<http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/625/ccie/certifications/routing.html#43>
ATM
                LANE is no longer in the Lab Exam. Although I can see that
only ATM LANE is
                explicitly mentioned I also note from the equipment list
that no ATM switch
                (LS1010) is included. Hence whey the ATM questions?

                Am I missing something?

                TIA
