Hi,
Here is my configutation for you to enjoy. Hint:do not use authentication. Thou
gh it can dial up, I can not keep it quiet after idle time as I said before. If
I put it as a backup interface, the async interface is always in reset mode.

!
interface Async65
 no ip address
 no ip directed-broadcast
 encapsulation ppp
 dialer in-band
 dialer pool-member 1
 async dynamic routing
 async mode dedicated
 no fair-queue
 no cdp enable
!
interface Dialer1
 ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
 no ip directed-broadcast
 encapsulation ppp
 dialer remote-name R2
 dialer pool 1
 dialer-group 1
 no cdp enable
end
!
dialer-list 1 protocol ip permit
!
line aux 0
 modem InOut
 transport input all
 speed 38400
 flowcontrol hardware

HTH,
Wu
