   Yes, the Cisco CSS 11000 series is an excellent global server load
   balancer which can balance by several metrics, such as geographical
   proximity (using a ping to calculate RTT), the server's ability to
   serve http content (or other application layer content), or just a DNS
   round robin method. I joined Cisco from the ArrowPoint acquisition
   and may be also biased, but I still think it is the best GSLB product
   in the industry. Cisco has three other GSLB devices: Distributed
   Director which uses BGP AS-hop count and routing metrics to determine
   the best site, the Content Router which came from the SightPath
   acquistion (but this is more for determining the best site for
   streaming media), and the final product Cisco has is Boomerang, which
   can determine best site based on a DNS resolution algorighm.
