EIGRP default.. experiment???

Hi..

Just for the sake of experiment, on one of the routers which was which was
running eigrp and connected to another router part of FR network , I gave
the command "ip default network 2.1.1.3". Results have totally surprised
me. I understand that we should give a classful network as default for
eigrp but I just tried it to see what happens. Routing table of this router
before giving this command is given in the end.

Then after giving this command, I get a static route added in the
configuration and routing table which is

wr t
..
ip route 2.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 2.1.1.3
..

sh ip route
...
S 2.0.0.0/8 [1/0] via 2.1.1.3
 ....

Now when I try removing this route from router by giving "no ip route
2.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 2.1.1.3", it says "no matching route to delete".
Even if I give "no ip default network 2.1.1.3" command, it did not remove
the static route.
So I reloaded this router and then it allowd me to remove this static
route..
Can this all be explained?? Why didn't router allow me to removethe static
route?? and first of all, why does it add a static route for 2.0.0.0
network.

Thanks
Devin
