I did find something very interesting with this. If you enter an
address without a mask I would assume that it would specify that mac
only, but in actuality it enters a mask of ffff.ffff.ffff. Does
anyone know why this is done?
r2(config)#dlsw icanreach mac-address 1234.1234.1234
r2(config)#^Z
r2#s run
dlsw icanreach mac-address 1234.1234.1234 mask ffff.ffff.ffff

You are 100% correct...
MAC address mask in hexadecimal h.h.h. The "f" value represents the
"don't care" bit and the "0" value represents the "care" bit. The mask
indicates which bits in the MAC address are relevant.

I think that it should be the other way around. The 0's represent the
care bits and the 1's represent the don't care bits.
It should be:
dlsw icanreach mac-address 1122.3344.0000 0000.0000.ffff
