I know they have different uses, but I have a question about SAP priority
lists and LSAP output lists....For a standard 802.2 frame (either over
ethernet or tokenring), obviously both types of lists are looking at the
dsap and ssap fields....But if I have either an Ethernet II frame or a SNAP
frame, will either type of list look at the ethernet type code? Could I use
an LSAP output list to filter IP using 0x0800 (I'm pretty sure you can do
this)? What about a SAP priority list with a dsap of 08 and an ssap of 00
(this seems unlikely but I figured I'd ask)? And how is a SNAP frame
handled, because if an LSAP list can filter based on ethertype, will it look
at the LLC header or the SNAP header for a SNAP frame?
Thanks,
Jack
