I took the config right off the cd:
Router 1: LECS,LES/BUS,LEC
lane database example1
name eng server-atm-address 39.000001415555121101020304.0800.200c.1001.01
default-name eng
interface atm 1/0
atm pvc 1 0 5 qsaal
atm pvc 2 0 16 ilmi
lane config auto-config-atm-address
lane config database example1
interface atm 1/0.1
ip address 172.16.0.1 255.255.255.0
lane server-bus ethernet eng
lane client ethernet
LS1010:
hostname ls1010
atm lecs-address-default 39.000001415555121101020304.0800.200c.1003.00 1
Router 2:
interface atm 1/0
atm pvc 1 0 5 qsaal
atm pvc 2 0 16 ilmi
interface atm 1/0.1
ip address 172.16.0.3 255.255.255.0
lane client ethernet
I can't ping from one router to another. The LEC shows operational, and both
of the subinterfaces show up/up.

OK
Let's see what you have
You have LEC on your VLAN
You should be able to ping the LEC connected to the
eame ELAN. They should be in the same IP net.
Isn't it?
Definitely you have to provide some more info - like configs...

Eugene

Subject: Different LANE Q
Situation: I have configured LECS, LES/BUS and LEC on a router, according to
DOC CD specs.
Problem: Though the LEC shows operational and connected, and I can ping my
own
subinterface, I cannot ping another LEC on the same network.
I believe this is dure to the fact that I have not specified the VLAN ID #
in
the "lane client..." command. The cd doesn't really discuss this (at least
according to
http://127.0.0.1:8080/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios113ed/113ed_cr/switch_c/
xclane.htm#xtocid2066227),
but page 395 of the Cisco LAN Switching book seems to indicate that this is
necessary to get the LECs on the same broadcast domain.
Is this correct? I don't have access to ATM stuff at the moment to check
this
out.
