RSVP testing

How have you people been testing RSVP?

I've been trying the following:

r8 - r1 s0.1 - r2

r8 = 172.16.1.34
r2 = 172.16.5.2

On r1:
int ser 0.1
 ip rsvp bandwidth 1158 1158
ip rsvp reservation 172.16.5.2 172.16.1.34 1 0 0 172.16.5.2 s0.1 ff rate 1 2

I had hopes this would limit ICMP to 2K. It won't even let me cfg it
though:

r1(config)#ip rsvp reservation 172.16.5.2 172.16.1.34 1 0 0 172.16.5.2 s0.1
ff rate 1 2
RSVP: reservation not accepted

Any hints why it doesn't like this cmd? (It's a pt-to-pt subint, one DLCI)

Once I get this working, I'll push pings hard from r8 to r2 and see if RSVP
will shape it back to 2K. Will RSVP do this rate limiting, or will it let
the ICMP burst past the maximum burst size when there's no contention for
the serial bandwidth?
